Chamberlain Hrdlicka is pleased to announce that Philadelphia-based Shareholder and S.A.L.T. Philadelphia City Council President Kenyatta Johnson sponsored the reconvention of the Philadelphia Tax Reform Commission that involves 15 members and will inspect diverse taxes in Philadelphia. The first Tax Reform Commission was created in 2002, and their final report was issued in 2003. This new group will additionally review the final report from 2003 and decide if there can be any tax reform to incorporate into the Fiscal Year 2025 budget cycle. The full announcement from the Office of the Mayor can be found here.

“I feel privileged to have been appointed to this esteemed working group and join community and business leaders in Philadelphia,” said Karpchuk. “Together we have the chance to foster growth for all businesses in our city and implement effective strategies to support them. I look forward to leveraging my background and experience in state and local tax law to encourage tax reform in this capacity.”

Karpchuk’s practice focuses on all aspects of state and local tax controversy and planning. She is a nationally sought-after speaker and writer on topics related to state and local tax. She also co-authors the Pennsylvania Tax Handbook and the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Bar Association’s Property Tax Deskbook.
